WHAT WE'RE ALL ABOUT
My wife and I started up J.M.Furniture on the 1st September 1999. Starting upon our family journey, with young kids in tow, we took the plunge and branched out to make our dreams of lovingly creating bespoke furniture a reality!
One year after opening, we were struck by the Lewes floods in October 2000. The factory was submerged in 9 feet of water - machines and stock were ruined! Luckily, we survived this (even if the car didn't!) and we kept on persevering.
The factory was up and running again within 2 months, and we've been working hard ever since.
We are a small, family run business, committed to creating the highest quality residential, commercial and industrial furniture, showing people the true beauty of bespoke, handcrafted furniture.
We're always excited for the next project! Get in touch with us and let the journey begin!
WHAT IS A CABINET MAKER?
We are quite often asked the difference between what we do and what other trades do:
Cabinet makers use various woodworking skills to create items of furniture.
Carpenters make and repair wooden objects and structures.
Joiners construct wooden components of a building, such as stairs, doors, and window frames.
